Tweak says, "I'm the man."
Can we, collectively, drop the trope that penetrative sex is equivalent to stabbing and/or inherently violent in nature now please? As a society?

Also? THIS. SO MUCH THIS.

Trope as in concept? Its only violent when its rape, but other then that I don't see any violence. I'm not so sure that we can get rid of the phallic thoughts about swords/knives. I guess violents acts are messy (body fluid wise.). Not exactly sure what else to say. How was your weekend?

It comes up a lot in feminist and military sexual rhetoric (if there were ever stranger groups to use similar ways of talking about things), but other groups use the idea a lot too. I hesitate to even say metaphor, because it seems like a lot of people really honestly thing there's something literally, inherently an attack about penetrative sex. And I just. Am really, really sick of it.

I am a little confused about what the second to last sentence means: "I hesitate to even say metaphor, because it seems like a lot of people really honestly thing there's something literally, inherently an attack about penetrative sex." Military vocab has always leaned toward using euphemisms ( i think, just guessing). I don't know about feminists. What did you read or talk about with someone that upset you? I'm not that great at feminist debate so I hope you don't mind if I am not too clear.

It's my understanding that these are from the US.
