Snapshots
I got my hair cut. It has long-ish layers now, that make it curl instead of frizz weirdly. The lady took more off the ends than I wanted though. It's maybe three, four inches from my belt? At least I don't need to worry about tucking it into my pants anymore.

Have read Rabbit, Run, Native Son, Evolution and Why it Matters, The Analects of K'ung Tsu, The Daxue (Higher Education) and Xiao Jing (Classic of Filial Piety), half of Graham's Disputers of the Tao, On the Warrior's Path, and The Art of Peace. Since two weeks ago. And I still have quite a bit more I'm supposed to have done. Why did I think 18 units was a good idea again?

Been playing with the slow cooker I got for Christmas. I love how convenient it is, but somehow everything I cook in it sucks. Tasteless, and unevenly cooked. :/ I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Valentines day is coming up. I guess this year we should really do something for that. Er. That doesn't involve taking the long weekend and just sleeping and catching up on homework. Probably. I don't know.

I don't know if it's the stress, or the graduation anxiety, or the lack of sleep and not remembering to eat, or some hormonal/neurochemical thing, but I've really been having a hard time, lately. I'm tired, and cranky, and I don't want to talk to anyone or do anything but sit around in my pajamas with M and play video games. Also, people have been writing SO MUCH SHINY, and I haven't had the spare time/energy/emotional well-being to read any of it for weeks and eeeeeeeeh. *whine, bitch, moan, complain*

This is why no one has heard from me for weeks. H-hi guys! I still love you! Tell me what you're doing. <3

I have been stressed to. I'm taking 2 classes that have a lot of work attached to them and its hard to handle the homework. I haven't signed up graduation yet. I need to quickly figure out what I need to do, but I almost don't want to. I've never seen a slow cooker before so I wouldn't know what to tell you. What are you doing for valentines day? My moms on a trip and so I am up here. I bought a couple liqueors. Ones almond flavored and the other is milk chocolate with caramel.

You need to go to your department's councilor and fill out a few forms. It takes less than half an hour, and isn't bad at all. The sooner you do it the better though, because SJSU is HIDEOUSLY slow about actually getting people their diplomas.

I don't know what we're doing. I may take Cal's advice below and just cuddle up on the couch and take a day not to worry about school or work or anything. It sounds awfully nice anyway. You're gonna make mixed drinks?

Have you already filled out papers for library science? Are you still doing that? Do you think I need to go to the library science counciler to get the forms or do you think that need? Sorry if I am asking you stuff you don't know. I am a bit confused by your answer. I don't know about making mixed drinks, but I am definitely going to have a sip of something. I already filled out grad forms last semester. I didn't know that you were supposed to fill them out a year before you graduated. Thats what my councilor told me. Earlier I was talking about grad. school, not graduation.

Oh, I see. My mistake. I don't know whether you need forms for library science. It probably wouldn't hurt to meet with one of their councilors? I don't know if they would meet with you though. I'd talk to one of your councilors first, see what they say. I picked up english lit GRE things today; I think I'm going to app for both programs.

I have no idea if I need to do the GRE or not. I hope not. I don't do well on tests. I'm scared about this stuff.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to take the gre for library sciences. They have a website, and also don't you have people from that one program at the school who are supposed to be helping you get this straightened out? They could probably help walk you through this.

Yeah. I should get that checked out. Tomorrow night there is a dance in the dining commons and they are letting us make sundaes. I am excited.

Ooh--what time? I might not be able to, since I fucked up my knee earlier, but I LOVE dancing. *waaaaant*

The dance is at 10:30PM. There is some speed dating thing that is going on before hand, but I'm going after that ends. How did you hurt your knee? That stinks.

Eh, speed dating. :/ I dropped a giant can of enchilada sauce on it, from the top shelf. It's got a bruise the size of an egg, right on the kneecap--I've been hobbling around like an old woman all well. It's kind of fail.

I am not going to the speed dating thing. I am going to the dance part. I don't want to be forced into some silly activity like that. I just want to go because the last time I went to a dance at SJSU, I had a really great time. I met some people and went back to their place and watched a movie. It was a lot of fun. The speed dating thing will be over before 10:30PM. Its not going on the whole time. Be careful about injuring yourself. I almost got stabbed in the finger by my steak knife today. I was reaching into my silverware bag to get a fork, when I got poked by my knife. Thank goodness for those instincts which tell you to jerk your hand away. Some said news for you: looks like that cream puff place that we went to last semester is out of business. Its had a closed sign on it since school started. Shall I just tell you about the dance then. I can't get my roommies to go with me either. I guess not everyone fancies sundaes and dances like I do.

Eh, I would like to go, it sounds really fun; dancing is awesome. But yeah, I probably shouldn't. :( Love to hear how it goes though. I hope you have fun.

I saw the cream-puff place. That's too bad-- their pastries are super super delicious.

I will tell you how it goes. Sadness for the cream puff place. I liked that. I will have fun at the dance. There isn't usually much that can go wrong at a dance.

I have a paper due pretty much every week this quarter and way too much reading and also a broken car that I can't fix yet and might be much more than I'm prepared for and a job that pays far too slowly for my taste and I can't tell my parents about my car because then I'd be back to this past summer when there was massive unpleasantness over pretty much this same thing so I'm worried both that I won't be able to pay to fix my car and also that I just really shouldn't be driving because I'm not sure I'm safe enough and also I have a three page paper due tomorrow and it's 11PM and I'm not even really sure what my argument is.

*breath*

I think I'm more stressed than I'm letting myself realize lately. >_>

But also I'm in love with Merlin and its high levels of crack and its wonderful fic and its wonderful actors that put out adorable backstage videos of grandeur despite its common problem with subtlety like an anvil to the face and high lack of regard for anything that would truly pass for medieval protocol. Or realistic costumes.
*cough*

Wow. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate too. How's the public transport in...San Diego, right? Most decent-sized towns I've been in had some, and it 's better than driving something that might be unsafe. And how did the paper turn out?

I am so looking forward to watching Merlin, I can't even say. <3

I don't know, I think sitting at home in your pajamas and playing video games with your sweetie sounds like a rad way to spend valentine's. You know you'll have a better time doing that than you would paying for an overpriced dinner in an overcrowded restaurant. ^^

*hugs* good luck with the school stress!

...I think that sounds really, really good. Will have to run it by M and see what he thinks.

Thank you!
